Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.

Real Valladolid are next in action against Eibar on Thursday on the road. Barca face Osasuna at Camp Nou in their next contest in the bid for the LaLiga crown.

Barcelona reduce the deficit to Real Madrid at the top of the table to one point courtesy of their win over Real Valladolid this evening. Arturo Vidal scored the only goal of the game in the 15th minute with a composed strike. Enes Unal and Kiko Perez missed decent chances for the hosts, but they were not clinical enough to beat Marc-Andre ter Stegen to miss out on a share of the spoils.

Barcelona have been solid this evening but are still not firing all cylinders. All eyes are on Antoine Griezmann as he has struggled once again after being trusted with starting duties. The Frenchman could do with a goal in the second half.

Arturo Vidal’s strike is the difference between Real Valladolid and Barcelona as the visitors take the lead into the break. The Chilean finished well after being teed up by Lionel Messi in the box. Jordi Masip was called on to deny Riqui Puig and Nelson Semedo to deny the Catalan club. At the other end Kike Perez slipped at the vital moment to spurn the home side’s best opening. However, the game still remains in the balance.

39′ Nacho has space down the left and tries to work a cross back to Guardiola, but Sergio Busquets is there to clear it behind.

37′ Perez latches on to a ball over the top and gets between Pique and Lenglet. However, the Valladolid man stumbles at the vital moment and fails to connect with his strike before Ter Stegen smothers the loose ball.

34′ We’re back underway at the Jose Zorrilla.

18′ BLOCK! Alcaraz lines up the free-kick, but he can only strike his effort low and straight into the wall. The Barcelona backline are able to clear the danger from the box from the rebound.

17′ Alba gives away a needless foul on the edge of the Barcelona box for jumping into the back of Perez.

Barcelona

15′ Messi lifts a pass into Vidal, who does the rest with a neat turn and finish.

Barcelona

15′ GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!! VIDAL PUTS BARCELONA AHEAD!!!! 1-0!!! The Chilean fires his team in front with a well-struck effort from inside the box. 3′ Puig tries to win the ball back in the Valladolid half, but he can only bring down Perez.

2′ Messi lines up a drive from distance, only to see his effort charged down by Olivas.

1′ We’re underway at the Jose Zorrilla.

Real Valladolid have lost 11 of their last 12 LaLiga games against Barcelona (W1), conceding 2.8 goals per game on average. Their only win in this run came back in March 2014 at the Jose Zorilla (1-0).

Barcelona have made two changes to their side that defeated Espanyol. Despite his strike against his side’s Catalan rivals, Suarez drops out of the side for Griezmann in the final third. Puig gets the nod ahead of Rakitic to start, while Ansu Fati misses out due to suspension.

Villarreal have made six changes to their side that was beaten last time out by Valencia. Moyano, Sanchez, Garcia, Plano, Alcaraz and Sergi all come into the fold to replace Nacho, Antonito, Victor Garcia, Hatem Ben Arfa, Rubio and Unal in the starting line-up.

BARCELONA SUBS: Ivan Rakitic, Luis Suarez, Neto, Martin Braithwaite, Junior Firpo, Ronald Araujo, Arnau Tenas.

BARCELONA (4-3-1-2): Marc-Andre ter Stegen; Nelson Semedo, Gerard Pique, Clement Lenglet, Jordi Alba; Sergi Roberto, Sergio Busquets, Arturo Vidal; Riqui Puig; Antoine Griezmann, Lionel Messi.

REAL VALLADOLID SUBS: Matheus Fernandes, Enes Unal, Pablo Hervias, Jose Antonio Caro, Antonito, Toni Villa, Sandro Ramirez, Nacho, Waldo Rubio, Miguel De la Fuente, Diego Alende, Victor Garcia.

REAL VALLADOLID (4-5-1): Jordi Masip; Javier Moyano, Kiko Olivas, Javi Sanchez, Raul Garcia; Oscar Plano, Fede San Emerterio, Joaquin Fernandez, Ruben Alcaraz, Kike Perez; Sergi Guardiola.

Barcelona have to win to keep up the pressure on Real Madrid at the top of the table. They begin the evening four points adrift of their rivals, although recent wins over Villarreal and Espanyol have galvanised the Catalan club. Luis Suarez has netted twice in his last two matches to signal a return to form. Quique Setien will need the Uruguayan at his best to ensure that his side leave with the three points tonight.

Real Valladolid are safe from relegation after a solid recent run of form. A four-match unbeaten run, including a win over Deportivo Alaves secured their status in the top division. Valladolid’s run was ended in a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Valencia, conceding a late winner from Lee Kang-In. Sergio Gonzalez will still want his men to end the season on a high note by taking the scalp of Barca.

Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the LaLiga clash between Real Valladolid and Barcelona at the Jose Zorrilla.
