Viewers of the clash between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle United have flooded to Twitter tonight to sing the praises of Sean Longstaff.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s high-flying Wolves welcomed the Magpies to Molineux a short time ago, hoping to keep their superb recent form alive.
The West-Midlands outfit had picked up 4 wins from their last 5 across all competitions before tonight, including 3 Premier League wins on the bounce.

As such, Wolves headed into proceedings in an impressive 7th-place in the English top-flight table.
Newcastle, meanwhile, had also enjoyed a solid recent run, having notched 3 wins from their last 5 across all competitions.
Nevertheless, though, the Magpies only sat outside the Premier League relegation zone on goal difference before tonight.
However, the subsequent showing of Rafael Benitez’s men at Molineux certainly didn’t paint the picture of a side who should be involved in a relegation battle.
The Geordie outfit put in a hugely-impressive, composed performance, that looked set to hand them a deserved 1-0 win.
Isaac Hayden put the visitors in front 10 minutes into the second-half, after his driven effort was poorly dealt with by Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio.
However, despite Newcastle having looked completely comfortable in holding Wolves’ rake of talented attackers at bay throughout proceedings, the second goalkeeping mistake of the night, on this occasion from the Magpies’ Martin Dubravka, eventually allowed Wolves to equalize deep into injury-time.
A looping Adama Traore delivery from the right wing saw Dubravka completely misjudge the flight of the ball, allowing Willy Boly to beat the Slovakian shot-stopper with a header at the back-post to secure a share of the spoils for the hosts.
However, while, when all was said and done at Molineux, it proved a hugely-disappointing night for Newcastle, one major positive note for all associated with the Premier League strugglers was the performance of Sean Longstaff.
21-year-old midfielder Longstaff put in a showing that belied his tender years, patrolling the area in front of his side’s back-3 with confidence and discipline both in and out of possession.
And viewers of the clash were certainly impressed by what the Newcastle youngster had to offer, as showcased below:
