Everton & Chelsea
Just before the international break, Everton beat Chelsea 2-0 in the Premier League.
That result was big for Marco Silva, who has been under pressure at Goodison Park recently.
Everton have spent a lot of money in recent times, while the Toffees also coughed up money to Watford for their Portuguese boss.
But has any of that investment moved the club forwards?
Everton are 11th in the league The have 40 points from 31 games.
As for Chelsea, the Blues are sixth in the Premier League after losing last time out.
Maurizio Sarri’s Blues lost in the Carabao Cup final to Man City, while they are in the Europa League quarterfinals.
Managerial sack race
Maurizio Sarri is odds-on with Ladbrokes to be the next Premier League manager to get the boot.
The bookies have updated their Sack Race odds during the the international break, and the odds suggest it’s the Chelsea boss who’ll be next out the door in the top-flight.
Sarri is 4/7 favourite in the book right now, ahead of Everton’s Marco Silva – who finds himself in dangerous territory at 4/1.
At the other end of the scale, Man City’s Pep Guardiola and Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp are 200/1 to be the next managers to get the chop.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “It now seems more a case of ‘when’ not ‘if’ Roman Abramovich will call time on Sarri’s sorry stint in the Stamford Bridge dugout.”
