Gareth Bale’s response to Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid return has been revealed by the player’s agent with uncertainty surrounding his future.
It was heavily reported last season that Zidane and Bale hardly had a good relationship.
So much so that it looked almost certain that Bale would leave the club last summer.
However, Bale remained at the Bernabeu after Zinedine Zidane unexpectedly left the club.
While it was expected that he would step up with the chance to move out of Cristiano Ronaldo’s shadow, the winger hasn’t impressed too much this campaign.
Now, with Zidane returning to the club, you would imagine that is the end of his Real Madrid career.
Instead, Bale’s agent has revealed the Welshman is ‘fine’ with Zidane returning.
When asked about Zidane’s return, Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett told BBC’s Football Daily podcast that Bale was ‘Fine’ with the situation.
Though, Barnett did go into detail as to why Zidane and Bale didn’t get on too well before the Frenchman left.
“Gareth wanted to play one way and Zidane wanted him to play another,” Barnett continued.
“Over the period of time it just got worse.”
Despite that, Barnett reiterated that Bale does want to remain at the club for the rest of his career if he can.
“He wants to play all his career for Real Madrid. If it doesn’t work out, we will talk again,” Barnett added.
“He is very happy. He will talk with Zinedine Zidane and we will go from there.
“If you let him play how he wants to play, and have a run of games, he can be right up there.”
