Mohamed Salah & Egypt
Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah is currently enjoying a mini break.
Rather than joining up with the Egyptian squad, Salah opted to stay away from the Pharaohs’ get-together.
Niger held Egypt to a 1-1 draw in an African Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday.
Egypt take on Nigeria next week.
For the record, Egypt have already qualified for the 2019 African Cup of Nations.
Egypt will also be hosting the tournament this summer.
Salah drops hint over Liverpool future
The 23-year-old north African star is under contract at Liverpool until 2023.
Every so often rumours pop up linking Salah with a possible exit from Anfield.
Will those rumours get even louder if Man City edge Liverpool to win the Premier League this season?
During the international break, Salah has shown his commitment to Liverpool on social media. As discussed in the Sunday Times:
Liverpool supporters worried about reports that Juventus were ready to offer Argentina forward Paulo Dybala and £44m for Mohamed Salah would have been delighted at his show of support for the club while on holiday in his native Egypt.
Having a break from football while his club teammates are on international duty, he carved ‘You Will Never Walk Alone’ into the sand and sent the photo out on social media.
For the record, others have noted that Salah was literally walking alone in his latest social media post.
