On his way to the Bernabeu?
Milan Škriniar’s agent has confirmed that Real Madrid want to sign the Inter defender but so do their La Liga rivals Barcelona.
Škriniar has really risen to prominence in recent seasons and is now a top-tier defender.
Since moving from Sampdoria to Inter Milan, the Slovakian has been the subject of interest from several clubs.
Manchester United have been linked in the past with Real Madrid also linked with a move for the defender with Raphaël Varane’s future up in the air.
Reports this week claimed that Varane is considering leaving Los Blancos in the summer.
That could force Madrid to search for a replacement and it looks as though they have settled on Škriniar.
“Real Madrid want to sign him, so do Barcelona”
That is because the player’s agent has confirmed both Real Madrid and Barcelona want to sign the player.
It also sounds like the player has no preference, with his agent claiming whichever club convinces Inter to sell will sign him.
“Real Madrid want to sign him, so do Barcelona; whoever can convince Inter to let him go will sign him this summer,” his agent explained, as quoted by AS.
“Skriniar is a model professional. If Real Madrid want him, they could get him but there are other agents who have a vested interest in taking players where they want”.
In a strange claim, Škriniar’s agent also explained super agent Mino Raiola may try and ‘mislead’ the player.
“Mino Raiola, who represents Ibrahimovic and Pogba, might try to mislead Skriniar, but the player is on the books at our company – we have a contract with him,” he continued.
“Inter paid Sampdoria 28 million euros for Skriniar and six months later, Manchester City came in with an offer of 55 million.
“Now he is valued at around 100 million. Any deal would certainly be complicated by the interference of intermediaries”.
