Barcelona on the lookout for a back-up
Barcelona are reportedly considering a move for Everton star Richarlison in the summer as they look for a back-up centre-forward.
After Paco Alcacer left the club permanently for Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona have been somewhat short on forward options.
Luis Suarez is the only recognised senior striker at the Camp Nou, with the Blaugrana having wingers such as Malcom, Ousmane Dembele and Lionel Messi complimenting him.
Safe to say, that isn’t ideal with Suarez having to play a very high amount of games.
The Uruguayan has featured in 44 games so far this season.
Though, Barcelona are now looking to take the burden off Suarez somewhat by bringing in a striker to ‘compliment’ Suarez.
According to reports today, one player Barcelona are looking at is Everton’s Brazilian star Richarlison.
Could Everton lose Richarlison this summer?
The Brazilian has been impressive in the Premier League this season.
Despite only scoring three goals in 2019, Richarlison has scored 12 during the current campaign.
His impressive start to the season led to much interest in January and reports even suggested that Everton had to reject bids that were ‘significant’ profits on how much they paid in the summer.
Now, Marca have claimed Barcelona are considering a move for the player in the coming transfer window.
They claim Richarlison is a player Barcelona ‘have been following for a while’.
Their report continues by claiming “Barcelona see Richarlison as an option for the summer, although thus far they have seen several players that had previously been on such a list drop off their radar.”
Though, they make sure to note that a decision over any move has not yet been made but Richarlison is ‘near the top of the list’ of summer targets.
