Liverpool 1st, Man City 2nd
The race to win the Premier League title remains in the balance.
Liverpool overcame a huge hurdle on Sunday beating Chelsea 2-0 at Anfield.
That result lifted the Reds back into first place, two points clear of Man City.
Prior to Liverpool’s match, Man City beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park.
Will either club drop any points until the end of the season?
If Man City win all their remain fixtures, they’ll win the league ahead of Liverpool.
Mo Salah & Raheem Sterling, Barcelona & Real Madrid
On Sky Sports on Monday night, Gary Neville linked some of Liverpool and Man City’s star players to Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Neville was analysing the role of wingers in the game.
He flagged up four players: Liverpool’s Mo Salah and Sadio Mane, plus Man City’s Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane:
They’re the most devastating [wingers] when it comes to goalscoring.
Actually I used to think if you’ve got a wide player who got a chance, he wouldn’t always take it.
These are finishers, they’re goalscorers.
So for me, the game’s changed a lot in the last 10 years.
Wide players now are not wingers anymore, they are more often than not wide forwards, three attackers, although Manchester City’s wide players do play as wingers when they’re on the ball.
But we are seeing absolute devastation.
The biggest compliment I can pay that Real Madrid and Barcelona would want all four of them tomorrow.
And usually what they’d do is pick the next best players in the world.
I think Salah, Mane, Sterling, Sane, you could probably add Bernardo Silva to that from Barcelona’s point of view, you could probably put those five into a pot and Barcelona and Real Madrid, who have always plucked the best players out of our country, would take every single one of them tomorrow, because they’re outstanding.
