Liverpool vs Wolves
Wolves could have a huge say in the 2018/19 Premier League title race on Sunday.
Liverpool are currently one point behind 1st place Manchester City heading into the final game of the season.
So, Liverpool must beat Wolves and hope Pep Guardiola’s men lose to Brighton.
However, beating Wolves will be no easy task.
The newly-promoted side have earned quite the impressive record when facing the top six this season.
They have beaten Arsenal, Tottenham and Man United in the league. Wolves have drawn with Man City and Chelsea in the league.
They have also beaten Liverpool in the FA Cup this campaign.
Wolves not prepared to roll over for Liverpool
Heading into the tie, Wolves’ season is pretty much over.
They are currently 7th in the division and will remain there no matter Sunday’s results.
This also means they may have secured Europa League football in their first season back in the top flight, as long as Man City win the FA Cup.
Therefore, you may have thought Wolves could rest some players and take a less aggressive approach to the tie.
However, probably much to the disappoint of Liverpool fans, Nuno Santo has stated his side will treat it like every other game and are ready to compete:
“We prepare ourselves for the game like we always did in these two years here.
“It’s the final game of the season and we want to compete. It’s an important game, a tough challenge. The players rise for every training session.
“Of course it’s a big, big game and we want to play it.”As quoted by Goal.
After such an impressive season, Nuno Santo has been nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Season award.
