A 50/50 challenge with Cristiano Ronaldo in Real Madrid training reportedly saw Manu Hernando never be with the Los Blancos first team again.
Centre-back Hernando is now on loan at Racing Santander from Los Blancos having never made a first-team appearance for Real Madrid.
He had been a regular in Real Madrid’s B team since 2017 and began training with the first team towards the end of the 17/18 season.
And Marca report that Hernando and Ronaldo both challenged for ball in a training session, with Ronaldo coming out worse.
It’s reported that the star, now at Juventus, did not hide his anger at being hurt.
And Marca add that it was an action that meant Hernando never trained with the first-team again while Ronaldo was at the club.
Ronaldo left the Bernabeu to head to Juventus, where he has consistently impressed with the Serie A giants.
The Portuguese star has previously opened up on how he maintains top fitness, saying: “Learn to train your mind as well as your body.
“Mental strength is just as important as physical strength and will help you achieve your goals.
“Be disciplined. Keeping yourself motivated and sticking to your routine is key. For me, there is no room for easing off so I have to be strict.
“Training and physical sessions are most important, but living a relaxed lifestyle helps you to be the best you can be, physically and mentally.
“I spend my free time with family and friends, which keeps me relaxed and in a positive mindset.
“In training we do a few laps of the pitch, stretching and cardio warm-up exercises.
“Make sure you do something similar in your training, even if it is jogging to the gym or a warm up on the treadmill or bicycle.”
